He is currently the Team Lead for the cereal Breeding and Genomics research at the center. His program focuses on wheat germplasm improvement and cultivar development for Western Canada. Dr. Kumar did his PhD and post-doctoral training at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Kumar has released 15 premium wheat varieties and published over 35 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.
