SUMMARY:15/16 Chamber Luncheon - Small Business Week
DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn about the idea\, vision and start up of Innovation Alley: an entrepreneurial community based on industry partnerships\, that accelerates innovators starting and growing businesses. \n\n\n\nHear from Michael Legary\, Co-Founder of AssentWorks and Kerry Stevenson\, Director for Startup Winnipeg as they discuss the inception\, partnerships\, opportunities and successes of this venture.\n\n \nIt's a place where incubators\, accelerators\, coworking spaces\, startups and established yet expanding companies all coexist within a four-block radius of each other. This is where Winnipeg's 'creative class' both gravitates to and thrives in large part due to the complementary ecosystem that welcomes new innovators\, then exposes them to the requisite peers\, programs and mentors needed to take their ideas to the next level.\n\n\nRecognition will be given to members celebrating milestone anniversaries. Contact the Chamber to be included!\n\n\n\nSmall Business Week is a national initiative that was started by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). The initiative was quickly adopted by Canada's business community. Small Business Week recognizes the important contributions small businesses make to the Canadian economy\; it celebrates Canadian entrepreneurship at the local\, provincial and national levels.\n\n\n\nLuncheon generously sponsored by: Entrepreneurship Manitoba\n\n\n\nOur monthly Luncheon Series provides you with opportunities to meet new people and learn more about a range of topics relevant to business. You are the greatest asset in teaching other people about what your business can do for them. This is also an opportunity to learn about other businesses\, and how they can be of service to you. Be yourself\, wear what you wear to work and bring your business cards!
